Building Creative Futures

Older video visiting Art Village Gallery - Memphis, Tennessee

The idea of Acknowledging Real Talent (A.R.T.) was born of Shaquanna Nolden Robinson's vision to address a growing need for accessible arts education and creative mentorship in rural communities.

With support from the Executive Director Earnestine Johnson of the Floyd & Bessie Johnson Foundation, A.R.T. was established as a subsidiary to help young creatives explore their talents, gain exposure to working artists, and experience art beyond the classroom.

Through gallery visits, hands-on workshops, and mentorship opportunities, A.R.T. created meaningful experiences that helped students see creativity as both a form of expression and a possible pathway forward.

A.R.T. is strengthened by experience and guided by the belief that creativity plays a vital role in youth development. Our goal is to provide students with encouragement, structure, and access while supporting parents who want positive, educational outlets for their children.

A.R.T.’s Vision Statement:
A springboard for young, underserved visual and digital artists.

A.R.T.’s Mission Statement:
To engage and nurture young, underserved visual and digital artists in rural communities.

A.R.T.’s Purpose:
To motivate young, underserved visual and digital artists through meetings, workshops, speakers and events that center around molding their creativity and developing their creative problem solving.
